DWARSRIVIER GETAWAY DIARY

Dwarsrivier country getaway is situated 13km through Herbertsdale in the Cloete's Mountain Pass, at the
base of the Outeniqua Mountain range. It is locally situated for those who wish to explore the surrounding
areas of Mossel Bay, George, Still Bay, Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp and Knysna. These towns are all within
two hours drive from the country getaway.

There is accommodation for 14 people sharing. There are various cottages available with linen and towels provided. Cottages are fully equipped with mini stove/oven, bar fridge and microwave oven,
 These cottages are set in a garden with abundant fruit and nut trees which have attracted plenty of birds to the farm.  Separate Ablution block next to rondawels.

Camping facilities with ablution block.  Water heated by using a donkey.  There is no Electricity in camping area.

Licensed pub on property with indoor braai and there is also a swimming pool.

For those nature lovers we will be introducing a day trip to a remote area set in a gorge with a beautiful water- fall cascading into a large swimming hole called Japie's se Swem Gat. Guest wishing to spend the day will be given a bush braai weather permitting.

Herbertsdale is 'n Afrikaanse dorpie met baie Geskiedenis soos ou geboue en ou forte. Die dorpie bestaan uit melk en skaap boere. Daar is ook 'n plaaslike wyn kelder in die omgewing. Dwarsrivier spog met 'n Macadamia Neut Plantasie waar die gaste welkom is om deur te stap. Daar is ook a lieflike stap roete om die plaas waar die gaste die natuurlike fynbos kan besigtig.
